Trail of Candy

Chief Distortion Officer I didn’t really get this music until I saw the band live. Then it clicked. The bass playing hooked me first and it’s ridiculously cool throughout. This record is a challenging jazz pop opera that takes time to share its mysteries as there is so much going on with it. Pie is an adventure in and of itself. All in all its and ambitious and fantastic album when you give it the time and you really take it enough times to see what it’s all about. Favorite track: PIE.

While inside the wiles of the water Never bother to be powerful or in control Matter over mind is the motto You will beg to scream over and over Matter over mind is the motto You will beg to scream over and oh Matter over mind is the motto You will beg to scream over and oh

PIE 08:18
I live in the forest And I’m hungry for food Mushrooms, nuts, and berries They won’t make a good stew Hello, little children As you’re wandering through Follow my trail of candy 'Cause I’m hungry for you Set the oven To 425 Bake you into Pie I live in the forest And I’m hungry for food First I ate your grandma Now I’m waiting for you Grandma’s bed is comfy After my switcheroo You brought me cakes and butter I’ll be buttering you You will tell me What big teeth have I I will eat you Alive But they’re better baked into pie Pie! But I'm a raw meat kind of guy But you'll never know until you try the pie If you’re in the forest And you find a trail of candy Better follow 'cause I’m hungry Gonna eat you, little children If you go to visit Grandma And she looks a little hairy Don’t you worry, it’s your Grandma Gonna eat you, little children Gonna eat you, little children Gonna eat you, little children Gonna eat you, little children Gonna eat you, little children Gonna eat you, little children Gonna eat you, little children Gonna eat you, little children Gonna eat you, little children

Potatoness 05:35
Make things happen, be bold I’ll do it when I’m told I’ll do it when the pressure’s mounting Keep on counting One, two, three, four, five Six, seven, eight, nine, ten Never move from this spot If you never move, they can never judge They can never judge “If you want this, it’s yours” I hear it echo like a chorus I hear it echo, “reach out, take it” But all I manifest is couch potatoness One, two, three, four, five, six One, two, three, four, five, six Never stop counting time Never stop counting the ways you can wait ‘til tomorrow Wait One, two, three, four, five, six, seven One, two, three, four, five, six, seven Never stop counting time Never stop counting the ways you can wait ‘til tomorrow Wait So goodbye (goodbye) Dream that I had (dream that I had) Gone like the wind (the wind) Straight through my hand And tomorrow, what will I be

What if you woke up today And in the mirror you only could See yourself with an egg for your head And a flower for your hair You might be kinda worried But you shouldn’t be Because that’s every day for me What if I soak up the stray condescending words I only would Be compelled to be my true self in the shower Sing with me At times, my mind is mortified that you can see I’m not who I’m trying To be I’m not the imposter You are Staring from the mirror You are Tell me I’m a failure You are I’m not the imposter You are You are, you are, you are You are What if you woke up today And in the mirror you only could See yourself with an egg for your head And a flower for your hair You might be kinda worried But you shouldn’t be Because that’s every day For me I’m not the imposter You are Staring from the mirror You are Tell me I’m a failure You are I’m not the imposter You are I’m not the imposter You are I’m a ball of terror You are If they pick me, it’s an error You are I’m not the imposter You are I’m not the imposter You are

Migraine 03:45
Wake up to a pounding To a screaming Child between your ears He’s an asshole But he’s yours You can’t leave him Pop another liver killer Crawl back into the darkness of your room But he’s in your bed, and he’s crying You can’t leave him It was all in the dream Blame it on the dream` Mother shot herself in the head in your dream Maybe this is how she feels There’s a bitty bullet stuck in your head In your head One itty bitty bullet and you’ll be dead That’s what they said But it’s a long long way from the head to the heart Give it another day, you’re not dead But you are Living life as a vegetable The mother, talk about her Was only trying to bring her child to life She’d love him He’d be hers She’d never leave him She would love him when she saw him One arm mangled Did he have three eyes? He was ugly And her husband would kill her for this It was all in the dream, Blame it on the dream Mother shot herself in the head for the dream Twenty-five years, and still There’s a bitty bullet stuck in her head In her head One itty bitty bullet and she’ll be dead That’s what they said But it’s a long long way from the head to the heart She woke the following day and was rather alarmed To be living life as a vegetable He’s still screaming, baby Even though he’s grown “Mother I know you loved me I’m not an ugly baby anymore” Mother wake up Mother wake up Mother wake up Mother wake up Mother wake up

Marked by the frame Of a cold, unkempt shed Shocked as she stares Solemnly on what’s ahead And the eyes They tell you a story While the lips Stay silent as death The eyes whisper Brother, you should worry Brother, you should worry It’s not over yet Sharpen your gaze To reveal what is not there Memory obeys And believes your stare And the eyes They tell you a story While the lips Stay silent as death The eyes whisper Brother, you should worry Brother, you should worry Sharpen your gaze Sharpen your gaze Sharpen your gaze Sharpen your gaze And the eyes They tell you a story While the lips Stay silent as death The eyes whisper Brother, you should worry Brother, you should worry Brother, you should worry It’s not over yet
